Kings Heath Pickwick Youth Hockey
Kings Heath Pickwick Youth Hockey was formed some 18 years ago with the aim of involving more youngsters in the game of hockey in Kings Heath and the surrounding area. It's been very successful with youngsters not only having the opportunity to develop into playing for the club sides, but we have also been instrumental in developing players to Midland and County Standards. If you're interested please get in touch with the Youth Development Officer through our Contact page.
Who can play?
At KHP, age, sex, or ability is not an issue, we have players from as young as 5 yrs going up to 16 yrs. The main aim is to enjoy the game of hockey and have fun at the same time.
A team building sport
Hockey is a great team building sport teaching the value of working as a team and developing communication skills.

Structured Coaching
KHP have developed structured coaching sessions run by qualified coaches. These sessions are held within a safe environment, and with organised games, competitions and festivals. Coaching sessions are broken down into differing age groups, Under 10s, 12s, 14s and 16s, with a minimum of one EHA coach (plus assistant coaches) per age group so that all players get maximum attention. Each session is designed around tried and trusted routines and is structured so as to develop all the necessary skills required to play and enjoy hockey.
Committed
KHP is committed as a club to play its part in the development of youth hockey and to encourage youngsters from whatever background to have fun, enjoy, and learn a new skill.
What will I need?
If it’s your first time then just bring yourself along. A limited amount of sticks can be provided, however we must insist that you provide your own shin guards and that these be worn at all times. Hockey is a very physical game.
How much does it cost?
As with any sport it costs money to run a successful club. At KHP we aim to keep these fees to a minimum. For an annual subscription the cost is around £30 - £40 which can be paid in half yearly installments.
